My name is Hiba Hammoud, I am 20 years old and in my final semester of university (exciting!). I am currently studying a Bachelor of Communications (Journalism) at Deakin University Burwood Campus.

I have had a passion for writing and the arts for as long as I can remember and it has always been my strong suit, compared to maths and science which have always been my weak area.

Strangely enough, I have never been a massive fan of politics, mainly because most of the time it does not interest me, but here I am part of the 2017 Press Gallery Team, ready to give politics a go and broaden my scope of writing!

In my spare time, I write for my own blog which I have run on my own since 2015. I also am a fitness fanatic, so I make sure I train every morning at 6am despite not being such a morning person!

Whenever I can I like going for hikes and doing outdoor activities because it inspires my writing most of the time.

My hobbies include photography, film-making, writing (obviously), Netflix (Why not?) and discovering new walking trails when I can!
